Beehive History
Beehive School, a private co-educational primary school was founded in 1986 by Ms. Latifat Dosunmu, a British trained and seasoned educationist. Originally situated along high brow Adeniyi Jones Avenue in Ikeja Lagos, the school relocated to its permanent site within the serene Central Business District of Ikeja, Alausa in 1996.
The strength of the school lies in its dedicated, highly qualified and trained core staff and a vibrant and effective partnership with parents and other stakeholders.
The school is open to all children irrespective of race, nationality, tribe, religion or creed. There are three levels in the school namely Crèche, Nursery and Primary.
A Beehive school pupil is not only adequately prepared to pass common entrance examinations into quality local and foreign secondary schools but also amply equipped with drive, a sense of mission and other attributes necessary for self-actualization and fulfillment in the future.
The Name ‘Beehive’
The name is inspired by that of another nursery school which the founder’s daughter attended years before Beehive School was formed, called Busy Bees. The name Beehive represents to us a colony of people ‘Busy Bees’ who have come together in one institution to commit to delivering an excellent and fun learning experience to our students.
Bees are generally easy to recognize because of their yellow stripes and so is every Beehive School student present or past, as the school focuses on grooming a well rounded child.
